A Taste of Southern Corsica - Clos Canarelli Showcase at LALA
On November 5, LALA hosts a Clos Canarelli showcase from southern Corsica. Yves Canarelli will be present—offering a rare chance to taste wines shaped by granite, limestone, wind, and the island’s wild maquis.

Yves Canarelli
Yves took over the family estate near Figari in the early 1990s and became one of Corsica’s leading voices. He restored native grape varieties, converted the domaine to organic (2002) and biodynamic (2006) farming, and pioneered amphora aging alongside traditional methods. Patient, precise, and deeply connected to place, he has helped put southern Corsican wines on the international map.

The Pours
The Whites
Clos Canarelli Blanc 2020
100% Vermentinu. Fresh and crystalline—pine resin, fennel, pear, anise, and a long saline finish. Signature estate style: precise yet expansive.
Tarra di Sognu Blanc 2018
“Land of Dreams.” Vermentinu and rare natives from pure limestone near Bonifacio. Chiseled, floral, and salty—white flowers, anise, bergamot. Yves’ revived limestone plateau project.
Clos Canarelli Amphora Blanc 2022
100% Vermentinu in clay amphorae. Energetic and pure: floral, citron, gunflint, pear, silky texture. Ancient vessel, minimal intervention.
The Reds
Clos Canarelli Rouge 2023
Niellucciu and Sciaccarellu. Juicy black fruits, wild maquis, light smoke, fine tannins. House red with southern Corsican energy and freshness.
Clos Canarelli Amphora Rouge 2022
Amphora-fermented. Pure and silken—tapenade, garrigue, wild berries, soft spices. Fresh, herbal, and direct.
Clos Canarelli Senza Nome Rouge 2021
“Without Name.” Sciaccarellu-led, structured and elegant: black fruits, spices, garrigue. Free-form yet unmistakably Corsican.
